Accident
Accident insurance pays out a lump sum if you become injured in a covered non-workplace incident. This coverage provides financial support even if your injuries do not keep you out of work. You can use this lump-sum payment as you see fit.
How Accident Insurance Works
Here’s what’s covered and how to make the most of your benefits.
How You Can Use the Benefit Payment
Accident insurance policies provide a lump-sum benefit paid directly to you (unless you specify otherwise) to help pay for a wide range of situations, including initial care, surgery, transportation and lodging, and follow-up care. The amount of the payment depends on the injury suffered and treatment received. You can cover yourself, your spouse, and your eligible dependent children.
What You’ll Pay for Coverage
| Tier | Bi-weekly |
|---|---|
| Associate Only | $3.60 |
| Associate + Spouse/DP* | $7.11 |
| Associate + Child(ren) | $8.56 |
| Associate + Family | $10.10 |
*By law, if a domestic partner does not qualify as a tax dependent, the cost for their benefits cannot be paid pre-tax, and the “value” of associate and employer-provided domestic partner contributions is taxable.
